Founder
Sowmya Vikram
Sowmya is a special educator, a Waldorf Kindergarten teacher and a crafter, currently based in Mumbai. With a deep interest in early childhood development and healing through education, Sowmya worked as a kindergarten teacher for children with special needs in Chennai, India and later in regular Waldorf schools in London.
Passionate about teaching and crafting consciously, Sowmya founded Little Hive as a seed, a space for building a co-creative community for personalised craft workshops and sustainably crafted products for adults and children.
Sowmya’s crochet lessons in London where she lived and taught between 2013 – 2017 earned her the prestigious Platinum Badge award conferred by CraftCourses.com, a UK based website. Some of her students have now gone on to becoming accomplished designers in their own right. Apart from crochet, Sowmya conducts workshops on Waldorf doll making and macrame for individuals and teacher developmental programmes for schools and institutions.
